Guidance/Support

There are a number of guidance and support services available through Dargaville High School. Please do not hesitate to enquire as we can access numerous external providers to support our students. We are very experienced and have a diversity of skills and networks to assist students. No issue is considered too big or too little to deal with!

We have a full-time Guidance Counsellor, Libby Hooton (lhooton@darghigh.school.nz); a full-time Youth Worker in Schools, Mark Manzano (mark.manzano@standforchildren.org.nz) and our Deputy Principal, Marley Mackay (mmackay@darghigh.school.nz) who are more than willing to assist our students/parents/caregivers.

Below is a list of some of the external services offering support, information and help. All services listed are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Depression Helpline – 0800 111 757 or free text 4202 (talk to a trained counsellor about how you are feeling or to ask questions)

SPARX.org.nz –  online e-therapy tool by the University of Auckland that helps young people learn skills to deal with feeling down, depressed or stressed
